Ever wanted to be able to write stunning cards? Send letters that stop peoples breath? These workshops will remind you to embrace those early days of excitement when you first got your pen licence, while you learn the art of modern calligraphy.
In the Beginner class (Thursday, February 25th & Saturday, February 27th) you will learn the basics of pointed pen calligraphy, practicing your strokes until you are a calligraphy ninja. You will go home with a package that includes a nib, ink, practice pad, practice sheets and pen holder in a lovely little parcel that will allow you to practice at home
The Intermediate (Sunday, February 28th) class will focus on slightly more advanced techniques, including using an oblique holder, planning & transferring layouts, flourishes and how to use a variety of different inks, all in the view of completing a gorgeous calligraphy artwork to take home. Your package will include an oblique holder, as well as a few other little calligraphy treats! * Please note that those planning to participate in the Intermediate class must have some pointed pen experience. *
Originally from Canada, Danielle’s passion for calligraphy started as a wee girl after an elective course with a terrifying Scots woman taught her that writing nicely wasn’t just for monks. Fast forward a few decades to Sydney, when Danielle’s hobby morphed into a beloved part of her business.
